It is not just heavy - the weight is distributed unevenly, the legs are vulnerable, and the internal mechanism is sensitive to angle. Moving it incorrectly does not just scratch the case; it can damage the soundboard, misalign the hammers, or crack the bridges. Pool tables have their own specific requirements. A full-size slate pool table weighs between 250 and 400 kilograms and cannot be moved intact. The slate needs to be disassembled, moved in sections, and reassembled and re-levelled at the new address.
