St Leonards is changing faster than almost any other suburb on the North Shore, and the scale of it is hard to overstate. The Pacific Highway corridor between the station and Crows Nest has seen tower after tower rise in recent years - The Landmark at 43 storeys, St Leonards Square with its 527 apartments, and more approved or under construction that will reshape the suburb's skyline again before the decade is out. What was largely a commercial and medical district a decade ago is now one of the densest residential precincts on the Lower North Shore.
All of that density creates a very specific moving environment. The high-rise buildings along the Pacific Highway and around Christie Street operate with the same level of logistical structure as CBD buildings. The older houses and lower-rise apartment buildings that predate the rezoning still make up a meaningful part of the suburb, and they come with their own set of access considerations.
