Removalists Artarmon.

A suburb that suits everyone. Moves that need to be planned properly.

Artarmon has two faces and they are separated by the Pacific Highway. West of the highway there is still a commercial and light industrial strip along Wilkes Avenue and Dickson Avenue that keeps the suburb's old reputation as a working suburb alive. East of the Pacific Highway - and particularly in the residential streets running down toward Artarmon Reserve and the Lane Cove River - the suburb is a genuinely lovely place to live. Wide streets, Federation bungalows and Californian cottages on generous blocks, and the kind of quiet that is getting harder to find this close to the city.

Artarmon Public School sits just off Artarmon Road, which creates the same timing constraints that any school suburb has for morning moves - the drop-off window makes certain streets difficult between 8am and 9am, and the school pickup creates the same problem in the afternoon. Jet factors this into the start time on every Artarmon job. It is a small thing that makes a real difference to how the morning runs.

The suburb also sits at the junction of the Pacific Highway and the Gore Hill Freeway, which makes it well-connected in theory and occasionally congested in practice. The approach route from the south is different to the one from Chatswood, and the right choice depends on what time the move starts and where the truck needs to position.

Federation bungalows east of the highway, apartments west of it

The residential homes east of Artarmon station are some of the best examples of Federation and Californian bungalow architecture on the North Shore - and they come with the moving considerations that go with that era of building. Original hardwood floors that show every trolley mark, hallways with picture rails that have been there for a hundred years, and doorframes that were designed for 1920s furniture rather than modern appliances. We protect everything, work methodically, and take the time these homes deserve.

For the apartment buildings closer to the Pacific Highway and Gore Hill - particularly the newer developments that have appeared along Wilkes Avenue and Dickson Avenue - the access is more contemporary and the requirements more administrative. Lift bookings and loading zone positions are confirmed before the day. The Pacific Highway intersection at Artarmon is one of the busier junctions on the North Shore, so Jet plans the approach and start time to avoid sitting in traffic with a loaded truck when we should already be moving.
