Willoughby does not tend to make it onto the flashy end of the North Shore conversation, which is exactly why the people who live there tend to love it. Willoughby Park is on your doorstep, the access to Chatswood and the city is easy, the schools are good, and the suburb has a genuine neighbourhood feel that more prominent suburbs sometimes lose when they get too popular. People move to Willoughby and stay. Which means when they eventually move on, it tends to be a significant event.
A full family home in Willoughby is not a quick job. A decade or more of living properly in a house means accumulated furniture across multiple rooms, a garage that has been repurposed for storage, outdoor furniture, pot plants, a garden shed with things in it that you forgot were there. None of it is complicated to move - but all of it needs to be planned for, wrapped properly, and loaded efficiently so the other end is not chaos.
The suburb has a mix of freestanding homes on generous blocks, Federation-era properties with original features that need care, newer townhouses, and apartment buildings along the High Street and Chatswood end. Jet knows the difference between all of them and approaches each type accordingly.
Willoughby Road is the main commercial spine, but most of the homes are on the quieter residential streets running south toward Boundary Street and east toward Artarmon. Those streets are generally good for truck access - wider than a lot of the Lower North Shore, with decent off-street parking and manageable carry distances from the front door. The Federation homes on those streets are often the most interesting to work in - generous hallways with one impossible corner, leadlight windows that need to be protected, and that distinctive 1920s staircase profile that is fine until you are carrying a double mattress.
For the apartment buildings closer to Chatswood station and along High Street, Jet confirms lift access and any strata requirements before the day. For the family homes on the residential streets - which is the majority of Willoughby work - we do a proper access assessment during quoting. Driveway width, carry distance from truck to front door, side access to the garage, whether the truck can turn around or needs to reverse in. All of it gets sorted in advance so moving day is just about moving.
