So does the mix of housing: solid brick apartment blocks from the 1960s and 1970s stepping down toward the harbour on one side, Federation and Californian bungalows on tree-lined residential streets on the other, and Cremorne Point on the southern tip - a narrow peninsula of heritage houses and low-rise apartments with harbour views that people hold onto for decades.
Cremorne is one of the most active moving markets on the Lower North Shore because it is also one of the most in-demand. The result is a constant churn of apartments on the Military Road side and occasional significant moves from the family homes and heritage properties on the residential streets and the Point.

For these properties the loading position comes from a side street rather than Military Road itself, and it is identified before the day rather than on arrival. Permit zones on the residential streets are real and enforced.
Cremorne Point is a different job entirely. The one-way sections on Milson Road, the steep driveway gradients on some of the waterfront properties, and the heritage character of the buildings here mean these moves require more pre-planning than the apartment jobs on the Military Road side.
