Local. Reliable. No surprises.
Crows Nest has always had a bit of an identity crisis - and that is exactly what makes it interesting. It sits right at the point where the Pacific Highway meets Willoughby Road, with the energy of a city suburb and the feel of a North Shore village. The restaurants, the wine bars, the coffee shops on the main strip - Crows Nest does all of that well. But what it also has, tucked behind those main roads, is street after street of older apartment blocks, semi-detached homes, and Federation-era cottages that were built long before anyone thought about moving in or out of them efficiently.
The new metro station that opened on the Sydney Metro City and Southwest line in 2024 has brought a wave of new development to the suburb, with high-rise towers now rising at Five Ways and along the Pacific Highway corridor. That mix of old and new is exactly what makes Crows Nest interesting to move in - and exactly why it helps to have someone who knows it well.
Jet grew up on the North Shore. He has done more Crows Nest moves than he could count, and he treats every one differently - because the old walk-up on Holtermann Street needs a completely different approach to a new apartment off the metro station. That local knowledge is not something you can Google your way into on the morning of a move.
The side streets running off Willoughby Road are where most of the access challenges live. Holtermann Street, Atchison Street, and the residential blocks closer to Wollstonecraft get narrow quickly, and the older apartment buildings on those streets were built in an era when furniture was smaller and staircases were steep. No lifts, tight landings, and doorways that require a sofa to be stood on its end just to get through the front door. It is manageable - you just need to know it is coming.
For the newer buildings around the metro station and along the Pacific Highway, the access is more straightforward in some ways and more structured in others. Strata buildings have moving windows, goods lifts that need to be booked in advance, and loading zones that fill fast on a weekday morning. Jet contacts building management before moving day so none of that is figured out at 7am with a loaded truck sitting in the street.
