Harbour views are great. Moving in and out is a different story.
Milsons Point sits directly beneath the northern approach of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which means every resident wakes up to one of the most recognisable views in the country. It also means they are very close to the Cahill Expressway, the Warringah Freeway, and a set of road networks that were designed for through traffic rather than removal trucks looking for a parking spot. It is a spectacular suburb to live in and a particularly specific one to move in.
The apartment buildings along Alfred Street South and around the Milsons Point train station are among the most tightly managed in terms of moving logistics on the entire North Shore. Strata rules here are structured - loading dock pre-bookings, moving windows, and in most buildings a certificate of currency from the removalist before they are permitted to start. Some buildings are firm about this. We have never had a problem with it because we carry QBE documentation on every job and send it through before we are asked.
Luna Park sits at the southern end of the suburb, which gives Milsons Point one of Sydney's more cheerful landmarks and one of its more unusual parking restrictions on event days. The streets around the station are narrow and the approach routes from the north require some thought. None of this is a problem - it just needs to be prepared for rather than discovered at 7am with a full truck.
Alfred Street South is where most of the apartment buildings are, and where most of the moving complexity lives. The buildings closest to the Bridge have strict moving windows - some allow only weekday morning slots, others require the goods lift to be pre-booked weeks in advance during the busy end-of-month period. Jet contacts building management before every Milsons Point job to confirm exactly what is required, so moving day runs to an agreed plan.
The heritage buildings and older apartment blocks on the quieter residential streets toward Kirribilli Avenue have different considerations - character lifts with lower weight limits, period entries with tiled floors that scratch, and a general expectation from the building and the residents that the whole thing is handled with discretion. We do. Nothing gets rushed, everything gets protected, and the building looks exactly as it did when we arrived.
Fully insured by QBE on every job. No deposit required. No cancellation fees.
"Strata paperwork all sorted before Jet arrived. Lift booked, loading zone secured. One of the smoothest apartment moves we have had."- Daniel R., Milsons Point harbour apartment
