Removalists Blacktown.

One of Sydney's biggest suburbs. Every move is different.

Blacktown's name carries real historical weight. In 1819, Governor Lachlan Macquarie granted 30 acres on Richmond Road to Colebee and Nurragingy, two Darug men, in recognition of their service to the colony - including guiding a route across the Blue Mountains. The settlement that grew around their land became known as "The Black's Town." In 1823, a government school for Aboriginal children, the Native Institution, was relocated from Parramatta to a site near this land grant - an institution now recognised as an early chapter in the history of the Stolen Generation. The school closed in 1833, but the name attached to the road leading there, and then to the railway station that opened in 1860, and Black Town Road Station was shortened to Blacktown by 1862.

Blacktown remained a semi-rural town on the Cumberland Plain for over a century afterward, sitting at the junction of the Richmond and Penrith railway lines. The real growth came after the Second World War, when Sydney's western expansion turned Blacktown into the major commercial centre of the plains between Parramatta and Penrith. Today it is the largest suburb by population in New South Wales and one of the most multicultural areas in Sydney - a sprawling residential area with family homes across a genuine range of styles and sizes, and a growing apartment market around the station.

Blacktown's residential streets are generally more accessible than the inner suburbs - wider roads and more off-street parking mean planning is usually about timing rather than access alone. The residential streets are generally manageable for truck access, and the suburb's layout means most moves are straightforward - but planning the loading position and timing still makes the difference between a smooth day and a frustrating one.

Diverse suburb, consistent approach

The streets around the station precinct and along Main Street are the busiest - active parking enforcement and steady commercial traffic throughout the day. Westpoint on Patrick Street anchors the commercial core.

Further out on the Richmond Road corridor and into the newer residential estates, access is generally more straightforward - but the sheer size of some blocks means longer carry distances than most teams budget for. Billy and Jet assess the specific property during quoting.

Westpoint Blacktown on Patrick Street is the retail anchor of the town centre and generates significant parking pressure on the surrounding streets throughout the week and particularly on weekends. For any Blacktown move with an address in the town centre precinct, the loading position is confirmed before the day so the truck is not competing with retail traffic for a spot on the street. It is exactly the kind of detail that only matters once - when you are sitting in a full truck with nowhere to park on a Saturday morning.

Two locals, not a call centre.

When you book a Blacktown move, Billy or Jet runs it personally - not a call centre handing you off to whoever's free. They know Blacktown's sprawling residential grid well enough to plan the truck position and the day before it starts, not figure it out on the morning. On bigger jobs they bring in their own trusted, experienced team, but Billy or Jet is always on site - sometimes both of them. Either way, there's always a named person from The Movers Company accountable for your move. Every item is wrapped and carried properly, and your home - doorframes, walls, floors, at both ends - is protected the whole way through. Fully insured by QBE. No deposit, no cancellation fees.
