How We Pulled Off a Same-Day Gig Turnaround for Base Music

Not every job we do is a house move. Base Music in Crows Nest had a gig on, and needed their venue cleared and set up for the night - then put back exactly as it was the next morning. It's a good example of the kind of work that doesn't fit neatly into "removalist," but is exactly the sort of job two capable people with a truck and the right attitude can actually solve.

The brief

Clear the room. That meant disassembling the desks, moving out the chairs and lounges, and making space for the stage and lighting rig to go up. It all had to be done and out of the way well before doors opened - a gig night has a fixed start time that simply doesn't move, unlike a house move where there's usually some flexibility either side.

What the job actually involved

Beyond the standard furniture clearing, we helped with the stage setup and the lighting placement directly - not something we'd usually list as a removals job, but it needed doing and we were already there with the right hands. Everything was done on schedule, with the room ready well ahead of the gig.

The next-day reset

A gig night isn't the end of the job if the venue needs to operate normally the next day. We came back early the following morning and put everything back in position - desks reassembled, chairs and lounges back where they belonged - so there was no extra disruption to the business beyond the one night.
